You may have noticed a lot of new trail showing up at Camp Robinson. Besides the weekend trail crews, there have been many smaller crews working on weekdays to improve the trails. Here are some things that you may have noticed this weekend. Enjoy the before and after photos.

Work is continuing on one of the newest trails, Gary's Little Lamb which connects the top of Elevator to Dogwood.

This section of standing water on Buddha near the berms, was repaired with sandbags and a little build up.

A very tough, technical turn at the intersection of Buddha and Bail of Nails has been reworked to improve flow.
Thanks to Bryan and Melissa Shipman for all the above work.

Also, stay tuned for information on improved access to the trails including a better process for purchasing a Sportsman Pass so you can enjoy these trails and help with their maintenance.

What does one need to present at an access point to be able to walk on these trails? Thanks!

Here is the current procedure for accessing the trails for mountain biking, trail running, hiking or to do maintenance: http://www.centralartrail.com/camp-robinson-info.html These will be changing soon so keep an eye on our Facebook Page.

I was riding behind some guys who had easily caught up with me on a smooth stretch out there in the middle of Camp. I was just tagging along for a while, falling back, and we hit a really good rock garden. Forty yards of getting to drive the pedals, pick lines, steer hard with your arms, pay attention to momentum, use your body shape to deal with some terrain. So I caught up close to their rear through there because I ride those sections hard for fun. Not everybody does, in fact the guy struggling a bit in front of me said to his guys, "we need to get out here and get rid of some of these rocks." Hmm, I don't know about that...

So it's probably just picture angles in this post, but I keep looking at these shots and thinking that pictures one and three look a lot more fun in the before version. I go from wanting to pick a line and ride the before.. to thinking that the "after" looks like a wide, straight, zero-obstacle connector section that hopefully leads to some fun riding?

Check out the video on my FB page (https://www.facebook.com/JoeArkansasOutside/posts/10209348408571903) to see that there is still plenty of rock to pick your way through out there. Like a challenge? Try Ball of Nails, Dead Elvis, Advanced Trig, Merlin, etc. The great thing about Camp is there is trail for just about every level of experience.
